Mt. Pulag

Last weekend we did some "adik" (addict) climb on mt. pulag.

Mt. Pulag Summit (Grassland) as seen from Ambangeg Trail

Why adik climb? We took the Akiki-Ambangeg trail of Mt. Pulag. It's not that unusual except that normally it will took any group 2 days to go up (via akiki trail) and 1 day to go down (via ambangeg trail). Our group, took akiki trail in one whole day. From 11AM to 10PM with rest only to eat lunch, snacks and dinner.

Taken from the summit just after sunrise

Why do such thing? Each member have different reason why they joined this climb. As for me, I would like to see how far can I go, and it will also test your emotional and psychological strength. And I learn (again!!!) something on this climb, if you're going to do such climb, you should come prepared. And since, it's been a while since my last climb, I had a hard time because of my cramps on both legs.

Mt. Pulag's Camp 3

Our guide told us that there were other groups (that he guided) who tried to do the same but all of them failed. And at first he thought we were just joking when we told him our plan. And he was really surprised that we actually did it. In spite of our two-hour delay in starting the trek and two of us suffered cramps, we were still able to reach campsite on the set time and still enjoy the view.

Watch out for more pictures/posts regarding this climb.
